The entire mineral-holding top is made from durable poly, so salt and minerals are not in contact with metal. This poly construction helps prevent corrosion, extends the life of the feeder, and makes it well-suited for long-term use with salt and mineral products.

To further protect minerals in outdoor conditions, the feeder is equipped with a poly fin-style rotating top that turns freely with the wind, similar to a barn weather vane.
