Sydell 0665A Deluxe Freestanding Starter Lambing and Kidding Pens

The Sydell 0665A Deluxe Freestanding Starter Pen creates a secure individual maternity area for a ewe and lambs or a doe and kids during lambing and kidding season. The freestanding modular design allows producers to build a row of pens and expand the setup with compatible add-on pens as the flock or herd grows.

Each pen includes a solid lower 18 in section that helps reduce drafts around newborn animals, an easy-access arched front gate, and a pin-in front panel system for flexible management. The layout supports newborn monitoring, bonding, nursing checks, bedding, feeding, watering, and routine care.

Designed for Lambing and Kidding Season

The 0665A creates an individual area for a ewe and lambs or a doe and kids during the bonding period after birth. Individual maternity pens make it easier to monitor newborns, confirm nursing, observe maternal bonding, assist weak animals, perform health checks, and maintain individual feeding and watering.

18 in Draft-Reducing Lower Section

The solid lower 18 in section helps reduce cool drafts around newborn lambs and kids and creates a more protected area near floor level where young animals spend time resting.

Easy-Access Arched Front Gate

The arched front gate provides convenient handler access for checking newborns, assisting with nursing, bedding, feeding, watering, health checks, tagging, and routine lambing and kidding chores.

Pin-In Front Panel System

The included 0653-1 Deluxe Pin-In Standard Front can be changed for different management needs, including feeding, grafting, or creep access, using compatible Sydell Deluxe Pen inserts.

Expandable Freestanding Design

The 0665A Starter Pen can be expanded with compatible Deluxe Freestanding Add-On Pens. This modular approach lets producers add maternity spaces as flock or herd needs grow without replacing the original starter setup.

Optional Add-Ons and Accessories

The Deluxe Freestanding Lambing and Kidding Pen can be expanded and customized with additional Sydell components as your lambing or kidding needs change. Optional equipment is sold separately. 

• 0665B Deluxe Freestanding Add-On Pen
  Expands the starter pen into a connected row of lambing or kidding pens. Add additional pens as your flock or herd grows without purchasing another complete starter setup.
• 0653-5A Starter Safety Zone
  Creates a protected area within the Deluxe Pen where newborn lambs and kids can rest away from the adult ewe or doe. Helps provide a warm, dry, protected space for young stock.
• 0653-5B Add-On Safety Zone
  Adds the same protected newborn area to connected Deluxe Add-On Pens, allowing safety zones to continue throughout a row of maternity pens.
• 0653-2 Feed and Water Front
  Allows the ewe or doe to eat and drink from outside the pen, helping keep feed and water mess out of the maternity area. This can help maintain cleaner, drier bedding and lets the producer feed without entering the pen.
• 0653-3 Deluxe Pin-In Grafting Gate
  Provides controlled restraint for a ewe or doe that is rejecting a lamb or kid. Allows the newborn access to nurse while limiting the mother's ability to push it away.
• 0653-4 Deluxe Pin-In Adjustable Vertical Roller Creep Gate
  Gives lambs and kids controlled creep access while helping keep mature sheep and goats out. The roller openings adjust vertically as young animals grow.

Warming Area Options

Warming equipment can be added to create a more protected area for newborn lambs and kids during cold-weather lambing and kidding.
