Sydell 0112A / 0113A Freestanding Starter Lambing and Kidding Pens
The Sydell Freestanding Starter Lambing and Kidding Pens provide complete maternity-pen setups for sheep and goats. The freestanding design can be placed where needed in the barn without requiring permanent wall mounting.
Each starter pen provides an individual area for a ewe and lambs or a doe and kids, with convenient access for feeding, watering, observation, bonding, and newborn care. The integrated safety-zone configuration gives lambs and kids a protected area away from the adult animal while keeping them close to their mother.

Each size is available with a blue painted finish or an optional galvanized finish. Galvanized configurations require additional production time.

Built-In Safety Zone for Newborns
The pen configuration creates a designated safety zone for newborn lambs and kids, giving young animals a protected area to rest or move away from the adult ewe or doe when needed. This is especially useful during the first days after birth while producers monitor nursing, bonding, and newborn activity.
Feed and Water Access
The 0400-4T Feed Front / Safety Zone Panels allow the adult ewe or doe to eat from outside the maternity pen. Keeping feed and water toward the outside can make daily feeding easier, reduce the need to enter the pen, help keep bedding cleaner and drier, and maintain the protected safety zone for newborns.
Freestanding Design
The freestanding design provides flexibility when arranging lambing and kidding areas inside a barn. Unlike a wall-mounted system, the starter pen does not depend on an existing wall for its basic configuration, making it useful for layouts that change from season to season.
